Since the board lists a MAX memory support of 16gigabytes, I see no reason to do above Windows 7 Home Premium.

The board is listed as Windows 8 ready and drivers should be available. The Biostar website does not list then all.

The OS is more up to your preference at this point(I see little need to an ultimate version). Almost anything that works on 7 works on 8.
