Will this ram work ok in this mb? On Newegg's site on the GA-965p-ds3 page it says "Notice: Only DDR2-800 memory supporting JEDEC approved 1.8V operation with timings of 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 is supported on Intel Desktop Boards based on Intel 965 Express Chipsets."

I see that the timings on the Corsair are ok, but the voltage is 1.9v. I'm fairly new at this stuff, and I was wondering if this will be a problem.

Thanks

I'm using that memory and it will work.

One stick out of my pair was bad, sent it to Corsair for replacement today. It failed memtest86+ wouldn't run at all at 800Mhz (400FSB), even with super relaxed timings (5-8-8-20)

The other stick is operating at 860Mhz (430FSB) with an E6300 at 3Ghz. No problems at all with this stick running at 1.9V.

I am gonna get the same mobo and memory except my memory is 667mhz instead so plz tell me as soon as you get your stuff if it worked out of the box or if you had to put 1.9v into bios.

You really cant compare different modules from the manufaturer. Just because the 800Mhz variety does fine doesn't mean that the 667Mhz flavor will be fine.

That said, I think Gigabyte has made the ajustments to make sure that whatever you put in there will work.

BTW, what CPU are you planning on putting on the DS3? if you go with anything that requires > 400FSB, you'll want at least DDR2 800 memory. If 333 FSB, the 667 will be fine (for overclocking an E4300, for example).
