I just updated from Win 98 to Win 2000, and when I enter
my password to "log onto Windows" it flashes to my
desktop then flashes back to the "log on" page. I
pressed F8 upon startup and the "safemode" is the option
selected, I pressed "boot up normally" and no change.
HELP? Thanks

From F8 there should be an option to boot in 'safe mode', not boot normally

There is a Knowledge Base article about this
behavior. Try this KBA.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;249321

The easiest procedure is to boot the system to DOS, run fdisk /mbr to
rewrite the disk's Master Boot
Record and reboot to Win2K. You need to use Win9X version of FDISK. You can
get boot disks for various operating systems from www.bootdisk.com

Usually you get a message about "insufficient or no virtual
memory" also. Are you seeing that?
