I am trying to install W2k on my machine that has Windows
ME on it. I want to delete and recreate the parttion
before installing W2K OS. After entering D when I am
prompted if I want to delete the partition, nothing
happens. Can anyone help? I do not have a floppy drive
on my laptop that I can run FDISK from.

Eugene,

How did you start the installation of Windows 2000? If you did it in any
other way BESIDES booting from the Windows 2000 CD, you are seeing expected
behavior. To be able to delete a partition, you cannot hold a handle to that
partition. So try booting from the Windows 2000 CD and attempt to delete the
drive and recreate.
