I'm ready to take the HDTV plunge and went out looking at sets today.
I've always been partial to the Mitsubishi TV's so I'm thinking of
sticking with them. My question is basically, forgetting the built in
tuner, is the higher price on the WS-65615 worth it compared to the
65315? I tried Mits's website but I guess I'm just not up on the
technology aspect of the sets so I dont really understand what the
differences are. Any help would be appreciated.

I have not had a chance to get inside of the new sets yet or to play with
them much, but this is what I know from the service training manual.

The new sets have CableCard and a combined Digital/Analog Tuner, and Digital
Cable Control. These features should make the sets easier to use with
cable and when using both ATSC and NTSC signals simultaneously off the air.
They also have on screen channel listing if your cable company supports it.
They have improved filtering on the lenses and freeze frame. The chassis
design has some minor improvements to improve serviceability, but nothing
that looks significant in terms of reliability.

If you don't care about the cable and tuning features I suspect the
differences in performance will be slight. You can likely make some good
deals on the older chassis sets.
