Is my memory overclock worthwhile?

I have 1GB of Wintec Ampo DDR2 667. I overclocked it to 800 @ 5-5-5-15 which is actually what it was rated at 667 (no cpu overclock). I ran Prime95 all night with no problems, but as for improvements I haven't seen any. Am I shortening my RAM's life span for no real reason? Another option would be to tighten timings to CL4 or CL3 at 667 or 533. Or should I just leave it the way it came?

You may find better results by tightening the timings, but you will have to experiment, as your CPU/MB combination, mix of apps you run, amount of RAM, etc. is unique to you.

Yeah I tried tightening timings to CL4 @800 but suffered an inability to boot up and had to clear the CMOS and tweak everything in the BIOS back... but that was without overvolting at all. Should I try adding +.5V because another reviewer on Newegg had succees. The problem is my mobo takes 1.8V only so maybe it wouldn't work or damage my memory.

BTW I'm doing all this just to get back at my friend who brags his system w/E6600 and 800 is faster than mine with 667.
