Hi guys,
I am looking at the Corsair 520HX power supply, which has 480watts @ 12VDC x 40A, and wondering if I can use this PSU to power a single 8800GTS 640MB. The complete system is as follow:

System spec:

Motherboard: Intel BadAxe2- I have decided this motherborad over the other P965 chipset motherborads for stability reason. Eventhough I might not get the best performance and value out of it.

CPU: Intel E6600 - Would like to run it @ 333x9 = 2.997Ghz if I can.

Memory: 2 gig of BUFFALO Firestix PC6400

Video Card: EVGA 8800GTS 640MB

HardDrive: two of Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS

a single DVD burner and 4xcase fans and Hearsink.

Any help or suggestion would appreciated! Thank you guys!

I think you would be fine with the 520HX

Will run wonderfully.

I don't recommend it but, Corsair was running a pair of 8800GTXs on a 520HX, looping 3dmark at CES. I would dig up the pic/link but you will just have to trust me that it was running 8)

Tool_462,
Is this mean that I can even run a single 8800GTX with this PSU? Thank you for responding! I am not worried now.

Yep, doing it right now! Runs cool, no voltage fluctuations whatsoever!
Works like a champ! My eVga 8800GTS 640 is happy!

I agree with tool462. I remember Corsair running 8800gtx in SLI at CES. I wouldn't try that for any period of time, but it will for sure run 8800GTS.

edit: Actually I think it was the Corsair HX620 running the 8800GTX in SLI.

Ejay, Can I still Overclock my system to run 333@9=2.999Ghz without worring not enough power from PSU? Thank you

Yep. When I did the calcs I was assuming you were overclocking......

Yeah sorry, it is the 620Hx (red, 520 is yellow)

It's also running water cooling and who knows what CPU (I would guess x6800)

Like mpilch said, I wouldn't do it for an extended period of time, but it's possible and a single 8800GTS will run dandy on an overclocked system powered by a 520HX.
