Unfortunately, 18 months is not that uncommon to have your battery life
starting to go. of course it depends on usage, charging routine,
luck.....etc. probably time to look at a replacement battery.

So next question is where is the cheapest place for a new battery in UK?

Hmm, should I be worried ? I've got a dell 950mAh battery, I've had it
17 months with daily use - some heavy such as WiFi and video /
extended audio use. Do they suddenly tail off or would I see gradually
reducing charge life and increasing charge times ?
So far it seems to perform like the day I got it (touches wood ;-))
Cheers - Neil

Perhaps this contains some interesting information:
<http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-34.htm>
Although they claim a lithium-ion battery should last more than one
year:
" Aging of lithium-ion is an issue that is often ignored.
lithium-based batteries have a lifetime of 2-3 years. The clock starts
ticking as soon as the battery comes off the manufacturing line."
