Hey, im looking for a motherboard for my new computer and i know nothing about motherboards, im goin with the core 2 duo E6400, and a single 8800 GTS, so i dont need SLI, but id really like to overclock, nothing extreme tho, just maybe like 10-30% depending on what i can get away with. Anyone have any ideas, or at least what chipset i should be looking for?

If your hard drives are all SATA, then this board is excellent:

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 LGA775 965 Conroe $123+6 3/3/07

If you want to reuse PATA (IDE) hard drives, then you will need a board with 2 or more IDE channels. These are good options, (just ignore the fact that they are SLI capable):

MSI P6N SLI-F LGA775 nF650i 2IDE ATX Conroe $115+6 2/25/07
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681...

Asus P5N-E LGA775 nF650i SLI 2IDE ATX Conroe $140+6 2/25/07

Asus P5N-E Review 12/22/06

All of these boards will meet your overclocking desires.
Avoid boards with ATI/AMD, VIA and SIS chipsets.
Please avoid Asrock brand boards as well since they don't fit your needs.

Both the nF650i boards are now $5 cheaper than they were last week...

Thanks, the gigabyte looks promising, but a little pricey compared to the Asus P5N-E, also, ive heard several recommendations on the P5B-E, is there any significant difference between the 2? especially because its like a 30 dollar difference.
