Hello, my 3DMARK06 performance was cut in half after overclocking. Prior to the overclock my 3DMARK06 score was 7564 and it dropped to 3328 after overclocking to 2817MHZ.

Here is what I changed for the overclock..

CPU Host Frequency 313 ( I could not 333 to boot)
System Memory Multiplier 2.00

Here are my system specs.
E4300
EVGA 8800GTS 640MB
Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3
SILVERSTONE SST-ST75ZF
Scythe SCNJ-1100P
Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS

I followed this guide for my OC.

I would appreciate any ideas :).

Likely your vcore is too low or you messed something up. Try resetting to default and see if your performance goes back up. If it does then your vcore is too low and your cpu is struggling.

Remember to up the MCH +1, the E4300 doesnt need copious amounts of voltage im running on more or less stock voltage, it's just that bloody Memory Chanel Hub that needs a slapping. But just a notch.

I've de - Oc'ed mine now to 2400(266x9) running the mem async to get full bandwidth, Perhaps i'll Oc once this starts to get old ;)

But anyhow I got the OC (see sig) by upping FSB +1 MCH +1 DDR2 +1 (Running the ddr2@667 4 4 4 12 1.9v and at the Ratio 1:1

Worked fine for the TAT + Orthos 10 - 12min torture test and 7+ hours Orthos and 7 cycles of Memtest86+ All that and only a little 0.0250v bump to vCore.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Viceras.

Looks like I got the setting right for 2817MHZ(Thanks Viceras!). However it appears only 3DMARK06 was affected by the problem. I have included my testing results below...

CPU Host Frequency = 200
System Memory Multiplier = Auto (800MHZ)
No Voltage Increases
3DMARK06 = 7522
Super PI 4M =2m32s
Sandra Processor Arithmetic = 16666 MIPS
Sandra Processor Multimedia = 93350 it/s

CPU Host Frequency = 266
System Memory Multiplier = 2.0 (533MHZ)
No Voltage Increases
3DMARK06 = 3315
Super PI 4M = 2m09s
Sandra Processor Arithmetic = 22052 MIPS
Sandra Processor Multimedia = 131880 it/s

CPU Host Frequency = 313
System Memory Multiplier = 2.0 (626 MHZ)
CPU Voltage = 1.33750
MCH Voltage = +0.1V
3DMARK06 = 8624
Super PI 4M = 1m53s
Sandra Processor Arithmetic = 25960 MIPS
Sandra Processor Multimedia = 154900 it/s

My temps running at 2817MHZ with a 100% TAT load after 10 minutes.
TAT: CPU0 - 63C
TAT: CPU1 - 61C
Speedfan: Temp1 - 47C
Speedfan: Temp2 - 50C
Speedfan: Core0 - 51C
Speedfan: Core0 - 48C
Core Temp: Core0 - 51C
Core Temp: Core1 - 48C

My idle temps running at 2817MHZ
TAT: CPU0 - 36C
TAT: CPU1 - 33C
Speedfan: Temp1 - 46C
Speedfan: Temp2 - 19C
Speedfan: Core0 - 18C
Speedfan: Core0 - 16C
Core Temp: Core0 - 18C
Core Temp: Core1 - 16C

How do these temps look ??

Thanks for all your help..
