Super Silent 4 Ultra

My CPU (Pentium 4 @ 3.0Ghz) is already loading at ~74C with it's old stock cooler.

I was thinking of buying the Arctic Cooling Super Silent 4 Ultra to replace the horribly noisy stock cooler, but then found out that the Super Silent 4 Ultra is actually WORSE at cooling ur CPU than the stock cooler.

So, should i shelf out 2.5x the money for the Zalman CNPS7000 or buy the Super Silent 4 Ultra in hopes that it will work well enough?

I vote for the Zalman. You need all the help you can get with temps like that!

I'm on a P4 northwood 3.0 Ghz using Zalman 7700.

My temps are basically:

Room temp 70-80F
Idle 41-45C
Load 52-57C
