Hello,

When I tried to apply the service pack 4 on my Win2000 machine, it
displayed the error "Control ID not found". This machine has no previous
service pack loaded. Does anyone know what causes this error?

Thank You!

You probably need to disable your AV and or install from a safe mode boot.
