[This is a copy of a post I put on the "networking" board, but received
no answer. Can anyone here help? Please!]

My notebook will "synchronize" to my desktop, but only put the desktop's
files in the "offline files" folder on the notebook, rather than update
the actual source folders, which is what I expected it to do.

Am I expecting too much? (But this Offline Files folder is essentially
just a "briefcase," where one still needs to put them where they belong
manually.)

It also doesn't put a new file created on the notebook on the desktop,
or update and older desktop file with a more recent one on the notebook.
So, basically, it does a one-way "synchronize" and only to the extent
of downloading the desktop's files to the notebook's Offline Folders File.

The notebook is running win2000pro, and the desktop win98se.

I have MyComputer/tools/folder options/offline files set to "enable
Offline Files" and "Synchronize all offline files before logging off."

What else must I do?
Is there some group policy preventing a full sync?

Advice gratefully appreciated.
