so will it be able to overclock a pentium d 820 and in reviews i think it can only go that high cuz it gets unstable due to passive heatsink on chipset so if i put a fan on it will it be better

Yes, you will be able to OC a Pentium D 820 on that board. Just get a better HSF, the stock ones always suck. Try Zalman.

But DAMN is that board UGLY! Why don't you look at Asus or Gigabyte?

We know the D820 can overclock, he was asking about the shipset on the motherboard.

Just FYI, while cooling the chipset will certainly help, it will not garuntee you a better overclock. What is the FSB on the 820, 800mhz? and the multiplier is 14??

Assuming this 200mhz (800FSB) x 14 = 2800Mhz (2.8Ghz)
Then
300mhz (1200FSB) x 14 = 4200Mhz (4.2Ghz)

now assuming that the numbers are correct, that is a very nice overclock.

Just use prime95 after each 10Mhz overclock (FSB) and monitor the temps. If the temps look good, go higher. You may be suprised with what you can do with a $10 heatsink.
