Does anyone know of a way to veiw on a sdtv box only the hdtv channels. I
know it sounds weird, but I can hear the audio on mine and know it knows its
there. It just doenst view them. Thought the suppliers may just be using
same software eccept not allowing access.

Does anyone know how to watch television on an FM radio? I know it sounds
weird, but I can hear channel 2, so I know it knows it is there...

If it is an SD box, you will not get HD. There are hardware and software
differences that make it impossible. If you want specific answers, however,
you might at least include some details like what service you are using and
the model of your "box."

If you have an SD box you won't be able to view any HD programming. Same
here in the US with SD DirecTV and Digital Cable boxes, NO HD FOR YOU!

I suggest you use it as a backup and immediately go buy an HD box. I did
and the resulting picture is incredible, better than DVD as that format
halves vertical chroma resolution (consumer digital) while HD downconverted
has full 480 line vertical chroma AFAIK.

BTW I got a Sylvania box for $96 from Sears (discounted model - floor model
w/20% off of $119) and enjoy HD from Baltimore & Philadelphia in Dover, DE.
Get the HD, you'll thank me for it. ;-)

Put an HD box on the telle

He probably meant receiving the HD signal using a digital cable box
and they watch it on a sdtv.

I once did an experiment. I hook up my comcast HD cable box to my
HDTV in two ways. One connects to the red-blue-green component Video
ports and the other via the coaxle through Channel 3 from the antenna
port. I flipped between the ports. Both viewable, though channel 3
was a blurry version of the HD program.

I remember two years ago when I first installed HD cable. The
technician insisted that I had to watch HDTV via channel 3. Duh!? I
doubt if that guy still works for Comcast.

So what Morgan wants is doable. But, why bother?

That answers my weird question. That the hard ware is different. I was
thinking that they may have being just changing software to add the hdtv
channels and visual side. And then just saying hd receiver instead of
standard.
Easy way of making money if all you had to do was change some software
By the way I did say it was a weird question
