how do i change my named 'e' drive back to 'd' drive as
i'm trying to use 'd' drive but its not showing up on
computer only as named 'e' which when i try to use doesnt
recognise my dvd...if that makes sense...any help?

use the disk management tool:

start/settings/controlpanel/admintools/computermgt/diskmanagement

you can change any drive letter *except* that containing the running
system. the system's registry contains hundreds of references to the
drive letter used at install, and they will not be updated...the system
would fail if you did this.

you can change a drive letter to any currently unused letter.

example: to swap d: and e:, change d: to z:, then e: to d:, then z: to
e:. [for "z:" use any available letter.]

Makes sense to me - Go to your control panel, then admin tools, then
computer management, then scroll down the list and select disk manager. You
can the change the drive letters as needed by right clicking the drive name
and re-assign letter. You might need to re-install some apps or repair
broken shortcuts after.
