Newegg has a Pentium D 805 2.66 GHZ and a Gigabyte GA-945GZM-S2 for 125 bucks. I know its not a C2D but seems like a pretty good deal? Yes or No?

Nah, you can get a X2 3600+ Brisbane deal for around the same. Of course, with the 820+945GZM deal you can upgrade later to a Core 2, but even so, I'd say no- you'd may as well just get the Core 2 now, or the Brisbane.

Depends on what you are doing, the 805 isn't a very good chip, but if you don't do heavy-duty stuff then it makes sense to grab that and upgrade to a C2D when the prices drop seeing as the 805 is the cheapest way to go dual-core right now. however, MAKE SURE THE MOBO SUPPORTS C2D FIRST. Buying a 775 mobo thta doesn't support C2D is retarded.

Without gaming I think it should be fine but that 3600 deal is still very good.

AGP would be fine for that. Actually the onboard video is fine for that.

It's worst than that: the MB only supports DDR2-400/533.

Where'd you get your info? According to the link I posted earlier, it supports 1066.

EDIT: Oh I see what you're talking about, DDR 533 but 1066 FSB. Well, now we know what the OP needs it for, and it would be fine for that. OC;ing would be silly for office and web browsing...
