Problem Active Syncing iPAQ 4700 with Outlook 2002

I am having a problem active syncing my new Ipaq with outlook 2002.

I previously had a sony clie that I synced with the palm software. I
installed intellisync, transfered all files to outlook 2002,
uninstalled intellisyn, installed active sync, created a partnership,
and tried to to sync for the first time. That is where the problem
started - Everything connects fine, it says checking for updates, says
0 of 258 records 4 min and 0 seconds remaining. continues to sync -
but never transfers any files.

I have tried this many many times, tried letting it sync for several
hours (nothing). Uninstalled and reinstalled both outlook and
activesync (nothing), and spent hours trying anything and everything
to make it work...

Any suggestions?
