Hello Guys and Girls

Has anybody else ran into similar issues.

I have a Asus P5N-E SLI mobo and it has onbaord sound provided by Realtek.

The system kept blue screening randomly on me after I had built it and it seemed like a driver issue. I installed the latest chipset, sound and graphic drivers and this seems to have stopped the blue screening.

However when gaming the games would randomly close themselves down and return me to XP.

I then decided to disable the On-Board sound because the event log was complaining about the AUXSOURCE and put a sound card in from another machine. Everything seems to be OK now (fingers crossed)

From speaking to some colleagues at work who have Abit Mobo's for their work PC's which also run RealTek HD sound they have seen similar issues.

Is RealTek just rubbish?

In bios, disable these if they exist:

LinkBoost
USB Legacy support
SLI Ready Memory
Peg Link Mode

Then go to Main menu, for EACH hard disk, change the Access Mode to Large. Save & exit bios.

In Windows, don't install nVidia IDE SW. If installed, click Start Menu | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Nvidia Chipset Driver Program, Remove, specify to remove ONLY IDE SW, Remove.

Reboot.
