g-link/ir blaster and motorola digital cable boxes?

does anyone know if the motorola digital cable boxes used hy
comcast can be controlled by the g-link/ir blaster sognals from
certain dvd recorders? trying to find out something like this from
comcast is more than a human can achieve. and the local retailers are
incompetent to discuss the matter too.
