How can I hook up my standard 84" Widescreen TV to a charter cable HD
box? I just ordered the service, but don't have the equipment yet. By
the description that the rep gave me it sounds like the box will not
down convert, but instead outputs a standard digital over the air signal
on channel 3. So I am assuming I need an over the air down conversion
box, but have not been able to find such a device. I want to tune to
the HD channels so I can get movies and programs in 16:9 mode instead of
having bgrey bars on each side with burns my screen in, or stretching
which makes only anorexic people look normal.

You can down convert a HDTV Cable signal thru a Cable HDTV Box IF
is Cable Box has an S-Video Out port and an S-Video in port
on your analog TV...... & audio thru red/white cable pair.
Picture quality is like 480p DVD .....
Another way is HDTV OTA local channels using the Walmart
$199 ASTC Digital Tuner Box set to 480i out again
using an S-Video Cable plus the red/white audio plugs.
For OTA, You will need a ChannelMaster UHF 3021 4 bay bow tie,
