Is upgrading this tablet pc's memory worth it?

Will I see any increase in performance in opening windows applications if I add 512mb's of ram to a tablet pc that originally has 256mb's of ram and is running at 1.7ghz? This would mean it would have 768 total. My sister wants to upgrade her tablet pc by this much for graphic design purposes, Flash, etc. Nothing 3d intensive though. 256MB is certainly too little for Win XP. Adding 512MB to total 768MB should give a clearly noticeable performance boost.
