I had Win 98SE loaded on my PII Gateway, 40GB hard drive that had a
data/fax/voice
capable modem. (Device Manager showed--Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audio PCI
64V/
Sound Blaster Audio PCI 64V Legacy Device/Wave Device for Voice Modem)
With Win 98SE, I used EzVoice 2.2 for answering the phone(I'm disabled). I
fdisk/reformatted
with no partition. Win2000 Pro loaded fine, but loaded a 3Com modem that has
no voice/waveable drivers.
I went to Device Manager and removed the 3Com modem and tried to load the
Telepath w/X2 modem
driver from the OEM floppy without success. I suspect that driver is only
good for 95/98.
Can I get a driver that will restore the modem voice capability, and if not
can I replace the
sound card with one that will solve my problem.? Am I dealing with a
chipset/board problem that is
bigger that I can handle? Thank you for any help.
