An engineer here is running an modeling app and wants more speed. I have a new Dell Optiplex 745 with Pentium D 945, and I have an older Dell Precision 530 workstation with a single Xeon 2.2 processor. Both have a gig of RAM. Which do you think would churn the modeling data faster? I don't know what the app is developed in.

What program is he using? If it is a CAD type program I would say the Precision 530 Workstation as it has a video card optimized for Cad work.
