I recently installed a new pack to the sims 2 line of games. Each game comes with a program called EasyInfo which detects your system components and if they're working properly. What I discovered (along with a few other Sims2 players) is that the program is clocking my AMD X2 4200 at only 1.2Ghz (thus only the single core). After optimizer updates from AMD's site to find the speed still not clocking correctly, we concluded that the newest game is not recognzing the other core, even though previous packs do recognize it.

I tested my system at srtest.com and that program reads my CPU speed of 2.2Ghz, another program at powerleap.com only reads 1.2Ghz....so my question is this: Does AMD CPU's automatically adjust or something? Is there something I can do to make sure my processor clock speed is correct all the time?

Thanks

Bingo , I agree. If you ever run into this again remember that each core runs at the rated speed, not an addition of the two.(best way I've had it explained to me)
