I imagine this has been asked many times before. Is there any upgrade path
from Windows 2000 Pro to either Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server?
It looks like 2000 Pro is a dead end and I will have to reinstall all the
software again. Is there any hope?

Thanks for any tips.

There is no supported upgrade path from any version of workstation to any
version of server.

As Dave says, you can't upgrade from any workstation OS to any server OS.
What makes you say Win2k Pro is dead? It isn't. What makes you want to use a
server OS as a workstation? You shouldn't.

Sorry I wasnt clear. I have been using 2K Pro effectively as a server, but
now I have some software that will only run on a server. I would like to
avoid having the reinstall all the software from scratch, but it looks like
that is what I will have to do.

There's a program that lets you turn a server into
pro and vice-versa. It's basically just some
registry change. I did download that program
a while ago and played with it, but no longer
remember its name.
