my new core 2 duo 8800 gts 640mb vista system

The cons first. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Spellforce 2 have diplay problems. Screen goes black in GR and portraits are weird in Spellforce. It is hard to fing a modem to work with vista.

The Pros. Frame Rates are awesome. I have 1 gig ram and 2 gigs of flash ram for Vista Boost. It looks great. I have a Blurple X-Dreamer case with blue lights. It is upgradable. I can SLI when vista supports. I have a asus 650 mb. Asus video card. I can go quad core. A local shop did it and he hid the wires very well. It looks great.

I am happy!

im in the same boat, kinda.

trying to run some benchies(3dmark) i know its a syntec

but i want to see how this sucker compares to my 68gt.
it had better score more than 100003dmarks
and more than 5500 in 3dmark06. oopps that is an sli figure.

im trying to cook and set this up and so far have ran the
3dmark 05 but it froze after the first test :x

couldnt run the nv cascade as i need vista and im not getting that
till late summer or later.

im just going to try some gaming after diner :lol:

i scored an 11000 on 3dmark 05 with the new 8800.
and a 10000 with 68gt,s :x

well, if you have a conroe you should score more or less like this:
05@1024- 15.XXX
06@1280- 8.XXX

edit- you should score less ~1500pts in 05 if you have a X2.

re-run the 05 at 1024 and 06 at 1280

you should score less ~1500pts (around 13.XXX) in 05 if you have a X2 instead of a c2d

and check the nv control panel for max performance settings

i havent ever seen any changes in 05 no matter which cpu i try.

i have tried a socketA xp2800 barton core with 6800gt in agp.
scored a 5000+.

and the same with a 6800gt in pci-e and fx55 and fx60.

with this new 8800gpu, nv control panel locks up as
soon as i open it :? :?:

i am currently using ati-tool for the 8800.
it works fine. :?

I meant difference between c2d and amd, not x2 and/or xp.

And you have another problem.The control panel default is set to "quality", so, you need to change it to performance and all the other tweaks (including OCing).

correct. i have always had it set to that.
have never changed that part.
