Just finished building a new rig and everything works great...except, Vista won't recognize my speakers. It acts like they aren't plugged in. I've downloaded the latest realtek drivers, but they didn't help. Device manager says that Realtek is installed an working properly. I've dug through the Bios a bit, the audio is turned on, but I couldn't find anything else. Not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Specs:
Intel C2D e6600
Gigabyte Ga-965p-ds3 (rev. 2.0)
8800 GTS
WD 250gb
Corsair xms2 2gig
OCZ psu 600w

Thanks

Which plug are you referring to? If you're talking about the speaker plugs, I have them in the grey/black/orange plugs (top three) It's a 5.1 setup (logitech z5300).

Try the bottom plugs see if they work, or maybe your volume is at zero and can't hear anything :p. But check first.

Ok, sorted it out. Turns out all I had to do was unplug all the speakers, then plug them back in. As I did each plug, the Realtek audio manager popped up and told me that a speaker has been plugged in. Thanks for the help, all is well now.
