This is my first build and in the process of triple checking everything, it occurred to me that things may not fit. At the moment I am leaning toward the Antec 900 and the following components:

CPU - Intel C2D E6400 2.13GHz

Mobo - Gigabyte 965P S3

GPU - EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB

Sound Card - X-Fi XtremeGamer

HSF - Scythe Ninja

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB

Optical Drive - NEC 7170

I haven't settled on a PSU yet, but I can't see it making that much of a difference (space wise). With regards to the PSU, I am planning on a mild OC and was looking in the 550-600w neighborhood. Am I wrong? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Edit: One more question. If the price of the case becomes an issue, and I go with a Centurion 5, does everything still fit?

that case is massive. you don't have to worry about things not fitting. my only suggestion is to buy a good 650 watt power supply. although u will probably be fine just by getting a 600 watt supply, you will be cutting it close once you add that inevitable extra hdd and dvd burner. you also will have to factor in the fact that the its output would decrease over time so buying a supply with a higher rating will prolong its life expectancy. obviously dont go for a cheap power supply. get a power supply from companies like: antec, thermaltake, pc power and cooling, ocz, silverstone, enermax, xclio, corsair, hiper, seasonic or tagan. these are known companies that make quality power supplies. heres some stickies for ur thought.

the last one is a psu calculator that can give you a rough image of what kind you need.

Thanks for the advice and the links, extremely informative. During lunch I did some looking on newegg and found a few PSUs that look to meet my requirements. The only problem was that I seemed to find ones that were at or around 600w and others around 700w and not a lot in between. But I'll do some more looking.

How are these?

SeaSonic S12 650w

SeaSonic M12 600w

Corsair 620w

PC Power & Cooling 610w

well a psu will only draw as much power as you need from ur outlet. it wont always be drawing the full 650 watts or whatever. so you can step it up to 700 watts.with the pc power and cooling, it doesnt have dual 12v rails which ur video card requires. the seasonic s12 650w is great as it delivers 18 amps across all the 12v rails. however if u are worried about aesthetics as ur case has a side panel window the corsair would also be a better choice because of the modular cables. it'll leave a smaller mess of wires and would have better airflow than the seasonic. either is a fine choice. imo im a neat freak so i would go with the modular cabling in the corsair.
