I have a Compaq Presario SR1430NX, but I'm limited as far as upgrading my video. So I was wondering if I could replace the motherboard with an aftermarket brand like Asus? Someone told me that I couldn't do it unless I replace the case also. I hope that's not true. It's a micro ATX form factor. Could someone help me.

The problem with OEM like Compaq is the proprietareism that they use. I have an old Compaq hard drive that uses SCSI Ultra Wide 3.0 (not your standard IDE), and the case may not have the size or the holes for another mobo, even a mini. Finally you may have PSU problems like you would with Dell.

Yeah, I heard about the PSU issues with Compaq. I regret buying this computer. Integrated graphics, no PCI-express or AGP slots. Well I guess I'll be needing a new case and PSU. I was trying cut corners with my budget. I apreciate your help.
