I was reading comments on the Sapphire X1950 Pro card (256mb) and someone said it needed 30A from the 12v rail (most of this PSU talk means nothing to me). I checked the Corsair site for my power supply - the 520 HX - and it seems to list the 12v rails as being 18A each???

Also here is a bit of a clearer table -

However some peoples reviews say they are using 420w power supplies with no problem on this card and presumably they probably aren't any higher. Plus it seems to be aimed at serious gamers and the like, so I presume it would be designed to run the latest graphics cards...

EDIT: If this isn't up to the job I'm thinking about getting either the Seasonic S12 600w (£85) or the OCZ GameXStream 700w (£74, oddly as the 600w one is £100???)

Thanks everyone for clearing that up. I did read the guide on PSUs but had trouble working out what the power supplies do from the provided info.

I'll stick with the Corsair and see how I get on. I've seen a couple of reviews of people who run that card on the PSU so I guess the people having issues are maybe running loads of extra 120mm fans, lights etc.
