Hello all,

I'm having some minor issues with getting everything setup with my
system. I'm running a Samsung SIR-T351 through a Barco VSE-20 to a
BD800 projector with a 168" picture. I'm running RGB/S from the VSE-20
to the BD800. The Samsung's RGB is feeding to the VSE's YUV. I done a
cursory installation of the Samsung decoder and have been a little
confused with the results. As a test I've hooked up a small indoor
antenna (just to make sure the unit was working) and have been able to
get about 8 channels. NBC is coming in totally distorted, but I think
the antenna is the cause of that. I'm about 18 miles from the Empire
State Building so upgrading to a nice outdoor antenna is the next
step.

In the meantime - I puzzled as to how to make more obviously needed
adjustments. Depending on the channel I'm watching - the picture is
variously full frame 4:3, windowboxed, or a slightly compressed w/s
image (with bars on either side). I've cycled through the
full/boxed/zoom feature on the 351s remote and is will help on some of
the channels but not all. Despite the format issues the pictures are
beautiful!

I'm wondering - should I set up another block in the memory of the
projector for the different scan rates? I'm currently passing 31.5
(line doubled ) to the projector for a very nice image. Could a
setting be wrong on the VSE-20? It's like I took a "dumb pill" - I get
this far and then feel like an idiot.

"Mama's House" was on the other night and the picture was absolutely
dazzling (despite the content!)so I'm pretty assured that the unit
functions - it's now the tweaking that has left me perplexed. Any
suggestions or pointers would be sincerely appreciated!

Bill
