I am using a Commando and a E6300 with OCZ 2gb 800mhz ram.
Whenever I overclock the cpu to more than 340, the cpu makes a high pitch whining/whistling sound. It's a very little sound, but high pitch and whiny.
I am running 340 for the cpu. It doesn't matter if I manually set the settings for the other voltage or use auto, it still makes a whining sound.

This board is notorious for buzzing under heavy loads. Some boards seem to make noise while others don't. Some think it's the coils buzzing and they stop it by putting glue on them. Others think it's their power supply. Lots of speculation...[/i]

Coils can be the cause of this yes. They can make pitching sounds at some frequency.

If you can go higher in frequency it might go away. Maybe 8O I think :?
