Thanks for the help in advance.

I recently overhead the statement

"unless your running a resolution>1280x1024 then the 320mb should suffice. Once you get higher reso's with high textures and lot's of AA then more memory is a must.
IMO getting an Oc'd 320mb would be better off than getting a stock 640mb 8800gts for a 19" monitor."

I personally have a 19" monitor and am thinking of getting an OC'd 640mb 8800GTS. Max rez is 1280x1024..

QUESTION:
1. Would it be better to save the $150 and stick with the 640mb gts for my monitor rather than the gtx?
2.Will there be a noticable difference?
3. And what about after a year or so when DX10 games start coming out.

1. Yes, definietely. At those resolutions the 320mb would suffice.. the oc 320mb is prolly best value for money. However, if you can afford it, the 640mb will future proof you to an extent with any additional memory requirements that next gen games may require. The GTX is a pointless purchase for that res.. unless your thinking of upgrading your monitor any time soon.

2. Between GTS & GTX? At that res? No.
3. See 1 above.

Well I would have to say that running your video card at the monitors native resolution would be best.As for the gts handling it,I see no reason why it can't.You have a decent system so no worries. You could run it at 1600X1200 as this seems to be a decent res to run at and is supported by all the new cards.Goodluck.
