I am looking for some instructions.

What I am looking to do is to copy active directory from one server (IBM)
to a new server (Dell). They are both going to be running the standard
version of Windows 2000 Server.

I also need to copy all files from this server in exchange 5.5 to the new
Dell server that will also be running Exchange 5.5

The IBM server is a child domain and I do not want to damage any files on
the primary domain server.

I have been researching on the Microsoft site and have found information on
using the Ntdsutil.exe utility to transfer or seize FSMO roles to a domain.
But I am just not quite sure whether this will damage the forest that is
already in place. I just need to copy to another server. I find this sheet a
little hard to follow Q255504

What about using the ADMT.EXE tool will this not copy the files over?

What about exchange is there a tool I can use there

Please let me know

Thanks
