So I bought my new computer tonight. AMD 64 X2 3800, a Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3, and 1GB of DDR2 JetRam(never heard of the brand but it was on sale). So I got everything installed, it posts up and everything but when it starts to load the operating system I get this blue screen that flashes for a split second and the system resets. I can't even read what the blue screen says. I haven't built a PC in about 4 years so I'm hoping somebody can help me figure out what's wrong.

The only thing I can think of is my power supply may not be strong enough. It's only 350W.

Ok well i had a similar problem when trying to reinstall xp on a borken hard drive. All i know is that i got the screen after trying to install. I got a new (not broken) hard drive and it was fine.

I would say just check SATA/IDE connections making sure nothing is broken and all is secure. If the drive isnt detected it may be your problem, other than that i dont really have any ideas. Good luck!
