Ok... almost done finally getting this thing together. Tryin to make sure everythings connect... on page 2-31, section 8 of the manual, it shows to connect the EATXPWR & also the ATX12V.

Looks like the only PSU cable that will connect to the ATX12v slot is the "CPU1" 4 pin connector.... but it's not labeled "ATX12V" on it & I haven't found anywhere that says this socket should call for the CPU1 cable. Can anyone please provide a confirmation on this? I don't want try FrY anything... 8O Is this required to be connected?

Oh yeah... should the 4 pin connector be installed next to the 20 pin chord on the EATXPWR socket?

Thanks!

(btw, have an 8800 640 MB V.C., E6600 proc., 700 W OCZ PSU, 320 MB seagate HD & Antec 900 case)

57 views & no answer.... :? Doesn't seem like this would would be a real stumper or anything considering it's a simple connection.

In case anyone's wondering who doesn't know & is reading this, the CPU1 connection DOES connect to the ATX12V socket.

I tried it, it worked & it didn't fry anything... as of yet. :D

Is the P4 connector the same as the CPU1 connector? (just curious... I didn't mention a P4).

And the model? - - - - > P5N32-E SLI Plus

(it's in the title of this thread) :D

LOL...my bad.

OMFG!!! Asus' site is slow as hell!

That motherboard is a 24 pin. If your PSU is only a 20 pin then you need to get an adapter. The 4 pin plug (P4 connector) plug in next to the CPU on the board. This board can use a P4 or a P8.

 NP

Well I plugged in the "CPU1" connector into the ATX12v slot on the MB. This is the slot very close to the CPU.

And, I also have a 4 pin connector (that's labled 24) coming from my PSU that is in the same strand as my 20 pin connector. I connected my 20 pin to the EATXPWR & the CPU1 to the ATX12v slots....

I don't believe I connected the 4 pin "24" connector next to the 20 pin connector... although I will have take a look see when I get home later to make sure... (I was putting these in @ 3 am Sun. morning.. :D my memories kind of hazy...)
