'Supp!! :P does it worth it to buy a video card now or would it be a better choice to wait 2 months or so ?? (I'm looking for a card around 135$ total , what would be a better choice /? to buy now or to wait some time ??
in my country the price of an x800gto is around 130$ and an x1600xt is more than that !!! does it worth it to wait for prices to drop on the x1650xt or else ,or should I buy an x800gto (they have a few pieces left only :( )

I've just upgraded my system. I got a 6300 core2 and a evga 8800GTS 320Mb. I am running games on a 19" Samsung TFT at 1280x1024 and everything runs perfectly. I think F.E.A.R. might want a bit more RAM as I only have 1Gb. But every other game runs smoothly at this resolution.

So... YES. get a 320mb

Did you read his post? He only has ~$135 to spend not $300

To answer the OP's question: In my opinion it wouldn't be a good time to upgrade if you are a gamer. Budget and midrange DX10 cards should be on the market within a few months and then you'll be able to have more choice and possibly get a card with better price/performance.

If you absolutely need a card not a 7600GT is in that price range and will do a fine job. I think an X1600 series card is also in that price range and will do fine (maybe better) against the 7600GT

Depends what you can get over there, a 7600GT or X1950GT are good for the money...

I mean that the prices on 1900 and 1950 series will drop soon ?/ once the new x2800 series is on the market ?? right ?? , that's what I'm hoping for (finger crossed) :P

If you really need one then that X800GTO is great but if you can, then wait it out and hopefully the price there will drop down.

For that price range it makes alot of sense to wait for the new mid-range and low-end cards to come out, if not to buy but for them to at least push down prices.

What country are you in, and what is the current price of the X1650XT diff?

The thing to consider is that if you want to play future games, some of them are going to SM3.0 support as their lowest support entry point. So for a long term purchase the X1650 would be a better choice. But it's also worth seeing if the GF8600 and X2600 lower-midrange offer nice performance levels for the same price, because that would be worth waiting a few weeks for.

Do not know if you are running xp or vista --- if you plan to upgrade to vista in future then you may want to wait for the price of dx10 cards to come down. If you buy a card right now, you could get a good card but would not be able to get dx10 as an option within your price range --- but if you are planning to stick with xp and not transition to vista- dx10 is not something you need so you can buy now.
