HD Capture Card Question

Ok, I have a panasonic HDTV and I want to capture game footage from my xbox 360. I don't really know anything about capture cards so I am curious what cards would be able to capture game footage in hd to my pc. I don't care about capturing any tv or sat, pretty much just games and the related. The price range is probably something under 500, but if you know of anything over that please post anyway. If hd capturing is not possible what is the best capture card out there that I can use for standard definition. Thanks for the help.

It comes down to the interface available from your Xbox to the computer, and a video card with VIVO -- video in/video out. If it's protected content, as in encoded with DRM or HDCP, you need a card with that as well. I don't own an XBox, so I can't help with what your outputs might be available. Composite (or S-video, which is not HD) is what is most commonly available as a high(er) definition input on capture ports, unless you are willing to spend the big bucks -- upwards of a grand.
