I get the following error when trying to run msconfig
through start, run....cannot find msconfig or any of its
components, Make sure path and filename are correct, etc.
you know the rest.
What can I do?
Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.setup_deployment (More info?)
Natively you can; Start\Settings\Control Panel\Administrative Tools\Computer
Management(Local)\System Information\Software Environment\Startup
Programs|View|Advanced, then in the "Location" column, you'll find the path
to the "Startup" location either in the "Startup" directories or from the
registry's "Run" keys.
You can delete the string value for the program you no longer want to run.
or copy msconfig from Windows XP

I copy msconfig from windows xp, where do I get it, the cd?
how do find it on the cd (some files as you know are
in "cabinets"and can't be accessed)?
just curious, why doesn't msconfig run on my 2K version?
Symantec always wants you to use it and I never can get
it to work.....
thank you in advance!

I got to the place but how do you delete the shortcuts? I
tried right click, left click, top menu, there is no
delete.

It doesn't run because it isn't included with Windows 2000. You can expand a
copy from your Windows XP CD-Rom
expand D:\i386\msconfig.ex_ %windir%\msconfig.exe
would place a copy in your windows directory.
