is this the famed Gigabyte board everyone talks about?

I want to go it on the cheap but still get good performance, replacing my Opteron 170 @ 2.65ghz. I love my current though, in antec p180 its virtually silent. I didnt bump Vcore so it still downclocks when not in use...

Ok, for ram per the budget ram OC guide on here this.

I want to use the C2D 4300. I understand there is a bigger price cut coming but i dont think i can wait that long...

Is the stock HSF good enough for a 3+ghz oc? Whats the highest speed you can expect from one without bumping Vcore so I may leave speedstep on? My opty is using its stock heatpipe cooler, saves on $.

As stated, the case is an antec p180, Enermax Noisetaker PSU and Ill keep my video card for now, till the DX10 cards come down. Its an x1900Xt. Runs everything I got fine...

Opinions?

I was going to say wait till next month for the new processors to come out and the price cuts, but looks like you've set your mind on getting one now. Judging from what you have, you should reach 3 Ghz with no problem. I would say to get an aftermarket cooler, but it isn't that necessary if you have good airflow in your case. The ram is good, motherboard good, processor good, I would say you will have a very good system that will suffice you for a good amount of time.
