Hi, the board on my hard drive is fried, is there a way to recover the files from the disks inside the hdd, I am not able to burcahse an identical model, with the same firm ware, to then replace the board, im wondering is swapping the disks inside the hdd, is that incredibly hard? any other ideas? Thank you

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. It was from a friends dell computer and a local computer had a crashed (clicking noise) hard drive which was made in the same batch as my friends was. I was able to get the data off.

If it is a common hard drive try checking local mom and pop computer shops you never know what you may come up with.

Other than that there is no way to recover your data. As it has been mentioned in other threads once a dust particle hits the platter the data will be destroyed. Transferring platters (unless you have extensive traiining and the right equpment) is really not possible.
