I'm trying to build a reasonable computer that will be useful for myself (broke college student) doing drafting and playing games that will last a couple years. This'll be my first build, but I've got friends who can help me out (I live with a Comp Sci major, and Electrical Engineer and a computer engineer)

What do you think? I might wait until after April 22 to save some $$, but I'm a bit torn.

Mobo:
ASUS P5N-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i $132

RAM:
Patriot eXtreme Performance 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800$215 - 50

PSU:
MSI TurboStream 600W $70

Monitor:
Hanns·G JW-199DPB Black 19" 5ms DVI Widescreen LCD $170

PSU: (I had a laptop before, I'm getting everything new here)
DirectUPS DP1000 1000VA 600 Watts $75

Case:
Rosewill R6A34-BK 0.8mm SECC 120mm Fan ATX Mid Tower $50

HDD:
I've got one sitting around to use for now, I'll probably pick up some more from a Woot-Off or something.

Proc:
Here's the biggest dilemma. I'm torn between waiting for the e4400 or an e6600 for just over $200, or going ahead and getting an e6400 or 6300.
I'm going to be running Linux, XP and Vista (while I've got the roommates I've got, I'm going to learn Linux).

GPU:
8600 GT, when it comes out, if it's not more than 230 or so. (I've got an ATI rage and an old monitor to use until then)

Total:
Mobo - 130
RAM - 165
Power Supply - 70
Monitor -170
PSU - 75
Case - 50
Proc - either 130 or 220
GPU - 230
Grand Total - 1110

I get Windows through school, thank god. Any advice on where to cut stuff out? I'd like to get it down in price. I do want to OC it, again, while I'm living with these guys. I dont know what in my list is overkill, so anything would be greatly appreciated!

PS. Anyone want to sponsor me?
EDIT: Links are better now.

If you are going to wait for money, no problem waiting to decide on parts. You know which parts are good and which ones could be better for similiar prices soon.
agree that the MB might be overkill, many nice features you might never use.
Will have to know more about drives to advise, might be able to use some of them for now.
The video card is probably not going to work, or not be worth it to try.
