I am having problems with some GPO's not running. In the
process of troubleshooting, I noticed that the policy had
not replicated to one of my servers
(\\<servername>\sysvol\<domainname>\policies). On the
server that is missing the policies, I went to restart
FRS and it is not in the service list. I went to a
command prompt and issued the command "net stop ntfrs"
and it told me that the service is not running. I issued
the command "net start ntfrs" and I go the message "The
service is not responding to the control function". In
the event log there was this message "The NT File
Replication service failed to start due to the following
error: The service did not respond to the start or
control request in a timely fashion". It is a Windows
2000 Server and a domain controller. My other servers
are Windows 2003.
