Hi
Im looking at buying a GFX card preferably 7300 or X1300. My comp is AMD64 3000+(939) and MSI RS480M2-IL based on ATI Radeon 200 chipset.
I heard tat Nvidia graphics card are not compatible with this motherboard. Is it true?
Also which card has good support for Linux? Im using Ubutnu Dapper(6.06) which is my primary OS. Which should I got for? ATI or Nvidia?

Any PCI-E card will work, regardless of brand.

Try looking for a 7600GT, they can be had cheap nowadays.

Any single NV card will work in that board. The Radeon chipset is customized to handle the Crossfire set up. Similarly, any NV chipset will be customized to handle SLi. Neither board can support 2 cards from the other company. To sum that up, any one NV card will work on any mtoherboard, its when you go Xfire or SLi that you run into compatibility issues.

I second Prozac's suggestion of the 7600GT. It will provide far superior performance to either card you listed and the BFG one will only run you about 110 bucks or eVGA for 99 (gotta love rebates).

BFG 7600GT OC

eVGA 7600GT stock

The EVGA 7600GT :D PC Club has them on Sale for $120.00 they also offer you a rebate, so "if" the rebate will happen you will get it for $100.00 which isnt too bad for a local shop.

But there is always newegg.com

the evga 7600gt is a real solid card that has GDDR3 ram
