Q. "Anyone know if Microsoft intends to release a new version of WinXP".

A. There will be no other version of Windows XP. Windows XP will remain
as is unless future service packs become available as time goes by.
Microsoft stated a new version 7 of Internet Explorer is in the works
but the availability has not been announced....maybe late this year.
