Hi,

Is PCI 2.2 backwards compatible with PCI 2.1?
Because some network interface cards only state PCI 2.2 however this network interface card supports both

So does that mean the ones that state PCI 2.2 only can also be used in PCI 2.1?

PCI 2.2 is a 66MHz version of PCI, however as far as I know the physical slot is the same for both 2.1 and 2.2. PCI-X is a 64-bit PCI standard primarily used in servers, which will usually not work in a standard PC. However, I think that as long as you have a PCI 2.2 slot, you should be able to use either 2.2 or 2.1 cards.
