help: autoshutdown problem in win 2003 std Edt. server

hi,

i have recently installed windows 2003 standard edition server machine. i am gettig this shutdown popup which states that the system needs to shutdown and gives 1 minute time, some RPC problem. i had this same problem in windows 2000 server also and i got the patch for it named: Windows2000-KB823980-x86-ENU.exe, this worked fine. i have tried the same thing again on this win 2003 also but it displays that the

message:

the version of windows you have installed does not match the update you are trying to install.

where can i get the fix. pls help me as the server is shutting down making the whole network go down every 1 minute.

also do i have to install service packs. i have tried the older ones, like SP-4 but OS doest recogonise it. where can i get the latest SP for windows 2000 std editions?

we have 50 win Xp pro clients and this has really made a severe problem.

I cannot help but WONDER what you're trying to do?!?!?! How did you come up
with the IDEA of installing Win 2000 patches on the Win 2003 Server version?

Don't try installing Win 2000 patches on the 2003 Server. That will NEVER
work! The updates for Win 2003 Server Versions can be optained via
MICROSOFT...
