Cannot install program using setup

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.setup_deployment (More info?)

When i try to install a program using its setup.exe program, for instance
Backup Exec, the setup.exe shows in task manager, but no userinterface is
shown, and the process seems to hang. I have read the microsoft article
Q222975, http://support.microsoft.com/defau [...] -us;222975, and
have checked out everything there, but i still have this problem.
Everything else on the server is OK.
