More about hows build alright gaming
  1. And dont just tell me that its sucks!! ......... it should be better gaming than my 7 year old HP Brio BA600 (P3) :)
  2. I do not know much about overclocking and all that. It appears to be a very good budget build. Great job of finding parts on your terms. You might want to read Sanji's guide on the $500 AMD build
  3. thanks for the quick responce... ill be hopefully getting my new pc next week, and then blow up my HP pentium 3 with some leftover fireworks.... yay!!! :)
  4. what's your Budget?
if you want overclock you must go with C2D.
    CPU:E4300
    Motherboard:GA-965P DS3 or P5N-E SLI
  5. The more i spend.... the more mad my parents get!!!.... lol.
  6. You can overclock anything, I overclocked pent 200 to 333. You have the gear and you work with what you can afford. You just don't lose much working on $20 computers.
  7. yea I guess so..... i have 8mb intergrated graphics on my p3 now lol.... I overclock the graphics and play battlefield 1942 on med settings..... not bad for intergrated 8mb :)
  8. alright ive taken your advise... here my intel build for $200 more than my amd build......

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.80Ghz (hopefully get this too 3ghz easily)
    Asus P5N-E SLI
    G.SKILL 1GB DDR2-800
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB 7200RPM SATA II 16MB HDD
    Palit 7600GT 256MB 128Bit DDR3 PCI-E
    LiteON dvd burner
Foxconn TSAA 998A ATX Midi Tower No PSU
    Silverstone Element ST50EF-PLUS ATX12V 500W

hows that? I think the psu would be alright?
  9. Can you give a maximum budget? I never heard of Palit so I had to look them up which begs the question, where are you buying the parts?

I would advise getting an aftermarket heatsink. The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is a good solid inexpensive heatsink.
  10. I really dig the G.Skill, excellent choice of Ram. GFX card is a great bang for Buck, you could have gone with the bas $319.00 880GTS 320MB, that would deliver nex gen graphics utilizing DX10, but then again you did well, might as well same some money for the better 8900 series of the NEW R600 chips from AMD/ATI.
Socket AM@ really keeps you up ahead of the game, but you could have gone w the C2D, reason is that ati will soon release their am3 boards and chips.

    Great Job

the that vid card is the best bang for my buck... this the shop im getting the parts from.... its so close to home---- www.qmb.co.nz (look it up)
  14. The 3600+ X2 Brisbane is a fantastic overclocker, almost E4300 level (and much cheaper). Looks like a good budget build, nice work.

Why do you take a sli-board... I thought that you was building a budget computer and there's no need to go for sli.
  16. wouldnt the MSI K9N let me down for my overclock?
and i dont want to overclock with a too high vcore that the cpu dies in a year lol?
